Servicing & documentation
Servicing you don’t have to chase, with the records you now need
Standard construction rentals include weekly servicing:
Pump-out and recharge with fresh, non-toxic chemicals
Two fresh rolls of toilet paper per unit, per week
High-pressure wash, inside and out
More frequent servicing available for high-traffic sites
And here’s the part that matters in 2026: we document every service. As of January 1, 2026, Ontario constructors must keep dated records of washroom servicing and cleaning (more below). Our scheduled, recorded service means that paperwork is largely handled for you — one less thing for the site office to track.
What Ontario law requires on a construction site
Construction-site washrooms in Ontario are governed by O. Reg. 213/91 (Construction Projects) under the OHSA, which was tightened significantly between 2023 and 2026. Here’s the plain-English version — and we’re glad to help you confirm what your specific site needs.
How many?
Generally one toilet per 15 workers for flush units, or one per 10 workers for chemical units, based on a 40-hour week.
How close?
Facilities must be within 90 metres of the work area where reasonably possible — and no more than 180 metres otherwise (in effect since July 1, 2023).
Separate male/female facilities
are required unless a unit is used by only one worker at a time.
Female-designated facilities.
On sites needing 5 or more toilets, at least one must be designated for female workers, with a sanitary-product receptacle and signage, where reasonably possible.
Menstrual products.
Since January 1, 2025, projects with 20+ regularly employed workers expected to last at least three months must provide tampons and pads in a clean, private, accessible location.
Clean condition + cleaning records.
Since July 1, 2025, facilities must be kept clean and sanitary, with cleaning records (including the two most recent cleanings) posted nearby or available electronically.
Servicing records.
Since January 1, 2026, constructors must keep records of servicing, cleaning and sanitizing — covering the past six months or the project’s duration, whichever is shorter.
This is general guidance to help you plan, not legal advice. Tell us your crew size and site and we’ll recommend a compliant setup.
Construction site restroom FAQs
How many toilets does a construction site need in Ontario?
Under O. Reg. 213/91, plan for roughly one toilet per 15 workers (flush) or one per 10 workers (chemical) on a 40-hour week. Sites needing 5+ toilets must designate at least one for female workers. Crew size and your male/female ratio change the math — we’ll spec a compliant setup for your site.
Is servicing included, and do you provide records?
Yes. Weekly servicing is included for standard units (pump-out, disinfect, restock), and we document every service, which helps you meet Ontario’s washroom record-keeping requirements that took effect in 2025–2026.
Do construction sites in Ontario need separate or female washrooms?
Yes. Separate male/female facilities are required unless a unit is used one worker at a time, and on sites with 5 or more toilets at least one must be designated for female workers, with a sanitary receptacle and signage. Since January 2025, larger long-duration projects must also provide menstrual products.
Do you offer heated units for winter?
Yes, heated units on skids plus cold-weather chemicals and reliable winter servicing keep facilities working through Ontario’s coldest months.
Do you offer crane-ready or hi-rise units?
Yes. Any unit can be fitted with a lifting device for crane placement, and our hi-rise/rollaway models are made to move floor to floor on multi-storey sites.
Can you provide units for indoor use?
Yes. Compact, wheel-mounted units designed for indoor use that can be moved with a hoist or crane hook. Tell us your project and we’ll match the model.
How fast can you deliver?
We work to your schedule and handle delivery, placement and pick-up ourselves. Call us with your timeline and site and we’ll get units there promptly.
Do I need a permit?
On a private construction site you typically don’t. If units go on public property (a road allowance, sidewalk or municipal land), a permit may be required — check with your municipality, and we’re happy to help.
